Twitteroo 1.5 is now available for download! But wait, that’s not all — the TwitterooCore API 1.4 is also available. The Twitter.com API changed slightly so we have updated the TwitterooCore to reflect those changes.
New Features
- Double-click on any user’s status message and Twitteroo will automatically address a reply to that status
- Usernames are shown in the status list to match Twitter.com (the full name is shown when a user’s status message is selected)
- User icons are now cached so that you can Tweet even faster than before
- Pressing the Enter key (or Ctrl+Enter) will send your status update to Twitter.com
Bug Fixes
- The status box will not let you add line breaks (returns) into your status message
Oh man, still no Proxy-support?
Lack of proxy support makes it useless to me. I’m using tweetbar but as I hate using the Firefox sidebar I’d really like to be able to use Twitteroo.
The word “Transparency” is still misused in the preferences. It should say “Opacity” with default setting of 100%, or default setting of 0% if it remains as “Transparency.)
Um … pressing Enter does not post my Tweet, and the status box still accepts line breaks. Yes, I confirmed that I’m running 1.5.
I’ve noted that the transparency change must be made. It’s true the way currently operates is misleading. We’ll look into the carriage return problem, proxy support, and other upgrades on my list. More changes will be out shortly –as soon as we have a free moment!– so get other requests in now
The last two entries should be removed from the change list since they don’t seem to be present in version 1.5.
Still got this error while starting:
EventType : clr20r3 P1 : twitteroo.exe P2 : 1.5.0.42521
P3 : 4609f103 P4 : twitteroo P5 : 1.5.0.42521 P6 : 4609f103
P7 : 29 P8 : 0 P9 : system.nullreferenceexception
I’ve installed .NET Framework 2.0, and 3.0, what’s wrong with that?
Windows XP Home Edition SP2
At some point even rudimentary proxy support *needs* to be added, even if it’s just based on whatever IE uses.
It’s one of the single most demanded features..
And, Eric, anytime you need an interface localization in Simplified and Traditional Chinese, just let me know. It was said twitteroo can’t initiate on system other than English platform
Maybe it would be a good idea to announce new versions on http://twitter.com/twitteroo ?
I’ve experienced exactly same error as POPOEVER…
My OS is XP home SP2, I installed .NET framework 3.0.
Same problem as POPOVER and Eulib
I’m not seeing any error messages, but for the past couple days, all my various installations (home and work) simply say Loading… They never update or get messages, though I do now have the Steve Jobs welcome message.
Also, need OpenID login support for comments
Hi everyone,
If you experience Twitteroo saying “Loading…” for a long time that means that Twitter.com is not responding. During the day Twitter can be pretty slow and at times down all together. I will make it a little more obvious in the new version as to what’s going on when Twitter.com isn’t responding.
New versions of Twitteroo will be announced on www.twitter.com/twitteroo!
POPOEVER and anyone else experiencing that error, would someone email me a screenshot of the crash? That’s something that I have not been able to replicate here and would like to fix.
I’m not sure this is the place for bug reports, but…
If the cursor is in the middle of the line of text and you hit Ctrl+Enter, Twitteroo inserts a line break before submitting.
Still not working. Keeps on saying loading. You need to do something to make it obvious that Twitter is not working right.
Why does twitteroo today show the public timeline. My settings say still Show Friends Timeline ?
Thank you. The best twitter client for windows.
Hope there will be:
- ability to receive/send direct messages;
- gui (custimizable; i’m sure if we could make it ourselves, there would be a lot of skins for twitteroo)
- bug “time of posted - 0 seconds ago for all of the posts” fixed
Also minimize button would be very nice!
ps: it would be very nice if there would be twitterrific skin for twitteroo., it’s really cool
Ping from the Unofficial Twitter Community and Forum. We posted Twitteroo on our list of twiiter apps. Come on over and chat all things about Twitter!
http://www.twitterforum.com
[…] Twitteroo - Twitteroo 1.5 Released # […]
Wish list:
- Posibility of choice between see Full Name or Nickname
- Before customizable GUI for skins, just color selection
i’d like to see twitterrific’s gui to much
- Made URLs clickables!
Forget my last one. I found it make URLs clickables when the message is showed up. But…
- Posibility of invert messages order (show first the last one)
Just a few miinutes ago, my twitter list of friends suddenly was changed with a different set, like I was using a different identity. Re-inputting my username and password does not correct the problem.
Probably a twitter API change, or bug?
Why can’t startup in XP?Or becasue of the language(Chinese)…
When will we see new version?
i’m experiencing the same problem as POPOEVER.
twitteroo installs properly but can’t be started.
i’ve tried to repair it by re-installing but it still doesn’t work.
my system info:
Win XP, Traditional Chinese
here’s a screenshot of the error message:

thanks!
On what license you made the library? I’d like to use it and write an app on one of opensource license.
Oh, and I think theres a bug in TwitterooCore ’cause it crashes with this:

download link does not work.
The download link sends me back to this page. Where do I download?
The download link isn’t working, it just kicks me right back to this page. What’s up?
the download link is broken..
Can’t anybody see that the download link is broken? I know I reported this days ago! Ø:-o
http://svn.tuesdaystudios.com/filedetails.php?repname=tuesday&path=%2FWest%2FMirror%2FTwitterooSetup.msi&rev=0&sc=0
I got a copy at work and have been using this program since a few weeks ago, it’s really the best twitter client in my opinion! Please tell me if you know any better
Sorry you’ll have to access through ugly WebSVN url, my filesystem is protected by password but WebSVN can bypass. Happy downloading!
Something has changed on my hosting account… grr.
Download Twitteroo 1.5 here http://rareedge.com/twitteroo/TwitterooSetup.1.5.zip
The download (from either link) doesn’t work — I get the message that the zip file is corrupted.
Ditto on the download not working.
When using the TwitterrooCore DLL, once I create the object and am logged in, is there any way to get to the userpic url?
For instance, if the current users has posted recently and shows up in the Friends timeline, the can obviously display that pic for both whatever tweet it was in the timeline and also in the other location I want. But if the current user isn’t in that timeline, I’m stuck… Short of have code to log the user into twitter.com’s website and getting the pic from there, I’m kind of at a loss….

ARe you going to fix 1.5? when I download it says the file is corrupt?

This is really stupid. Why put the world on hold while your download doesn’t work. I already shared your URL with sixteen! people before I downloaded it.
I cannot send a tweet via Twitteroo. When I hit update it does nothing. What’s up?
I’m having the same problem–my tweets are not updating.
It won’t let me update either. Whats going on?
Mine isn’t working either - I tried signing out and back in, and removing Twitteroo and reinstalling it, but nothing works. It’s obviously not just my computer?
Twitteroo no longer works since there has not been an update since 2007. I slightly know Eric, the creator of Twitteroo, and I developed a Twitter program in .NET using the TwitterooCore Library. The reason Twitteroo no longer lets you update your Twitter.com status is because Twitter updated their API and everything, I have modified the TwitterooCore Library to now completely support the new Twitter API. You can check out my application at www.losingcolor.com. I want Eric to update Twitteroo as bad as you guys do though.
Hello, I have a question about your service. I looked around for a support email, but can’t find one. I would be very grateful if you could send me your email. Thank you very much. And keep up the good work with the Client.
Thanks for the download, a very good software, bye!
I’ve just installed Version 1.5 and it won’t post my tweets. This is annoying as they disappear from the “what are you doing” box as if they’re posted - so I have to type them all again… If there’s no quick fix for this I will just have to uninstall, as this makes the program unusable.
