GMobileSync 1.2

Posted on Sunday 17 December 2006

I’m happy to announce the release of GMobileSync 1.2 today! I spent about twenty hours writing/updating code and testing since the last version. You can download GMobileSync 1.2 now!

Features

  • Recurring appointments are now supported!*
  • Better error handling – GMobileSync can detect the difference between no network connection and bad credentials. Before synchronization, GMobileSync will always check for internet access.
  • All appointments are flagged as GMobileSync-created in their metadata for faster updates.

Bug Fixes

  • The Location field is no longer doubled. Multiple locations are supported properly.

Judging from the poll results, it looks like I am going to be working on two-way synchronization next. The majority of the feedback I received indicated this is an important feature. I will begin working on that and a few other convenience items.

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support, testing, and compliments! As always, leave a comment on any relevant page if you have questions or problems.

*Appointment recurrence is not enabled by default! To enable appointment recurrence, go to Settings and toggle the Enable appt. recurrence checkbox.

Keep up the Good work Eric! I just bought an iPaq yesterday (Dec 16th), and I am looking forward to using this software with it.

I would love to donate to the project to keep it active, any way that I can?

I appreciate all your hard work.

    Very nice app, Eric.

Seems like it is not picking up some of my recurring daily events, but apart from that, looks very good.

I meant weekly recurring events, no problems with monthlies or dailies.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Eric,

Nice work, you might put me out of business :) . I’m the author of OggSync, so I’ve been through all of what you are going through. If anyone is looking for a commercial (with full trial) version, stop by and give it a try.

Erik Thauvin, can you give me an example of a weekly recurring event that isn’t being picked up so that I can recreate it on my calendar and test?

It seems like everyone using GMobileSync is named Eric or Erik! :-)

Just installed the application and it works flawless.
Synchronization in two directions would be great!

    Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I am seeing the same thing with weekly recurring events not being picked up.
Ex: Event “Pay Bills” every saturday at 12pm
Is there a work around for this? I really like the app!

    Thanks!!

Interesting application but I need two way synchronization.
I used ActiveGcSync. It seems to be like your application. I’m waiting for a new version your of your aplication. Whose program will be better? ;)

    Good Luck!

I recently installed gmobilesync on my blackjack. when I run the program it looks like its working. Weekly Recurring appointments that terminate after a few weeks do not appear in my calender. Only some of my weekly recurring appointments appear in my calender. I have the following setting in the program: Timezone offset: -7, Sync Previous Days: 7, Sync Future Days: 60, and Enable appt. recurrence is checked. I tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the software.

    Hi,

Fine app. Already tested version 1.3.6 and 1.3.5
However, I get an error on both version while trying to access the Settings menu and have to close the app.

I’m using HTC Tytn with WM6. Is it WM6 compatible?
Also, how can I delete the installed files manually, after removing it from the Setup?
I’m asking this because the various versions seems to be overwriting.

    Thanks, good work!
